In My Life - To NY And Back Again

Just a peek into my very eventful weekend.

.

I traveled to NYC friday morning. And then back to Boston friday night. With just a few hours in between for a dress fitting, some shopping, and a visit to my old school.

.

We worked our butts off on more wedding related projects. Only 19 more days now!

.

And we managed to make a trip out the beach on a windy, but quiet and relaxing day.

Wedding Wednesday: Snapshot

IMG_3175IMG_3153

Sooooo, we are now only a month away from the wedding. Eek! It is getting down to the wire, and I’m busy working on all the final little details. It seems there is new project to get done every day. A couple of the recent ones include spray painting sunglasses for the bridal party, and sewing up the cutest little flower girl outfit I’ve ever seen (if I do say so myself). Up next - signs, handmade lawn games, favor jars, escort cards, and tissue paper poms. Now, who wants to come help?

Wedding Wednesday: My Bridal Shower

1

I had the most amazing bridal shower this past weekend! Boo’s sister, Amy, came up with sewing/crafting/fashion theme, which couldn’t have been more perfect. She helped out with some decor, My sister made some of her deliiiiiicous cake pops, and my Aunt hosted and took care of everything else. It came together better than I could have ever imagined, and I’m very thankful for everyone for making this happen. Thank you guys!

p.s - This post is a little bit more picture heavy than usual. You’ve been warned.

p.p.s - photos taken by either me, or my bridesmaids Allison and Ashlee. (see, told you guys I’d give you credit)

Wedding Wednesday: Burlap

See this big bolt of burlap? Obviously I have a lot of wedding DIY projects in mind using this particular material. So I thought I would share some of the things I’ve been working on! These aren’t even all of my burlap projects. But I haven’t quite started all of them yet. But we’ll start with these for now :)

IMG_4528

1. Burlap and bakers twine wrapped mason jars. Going to be used as vases, favors, and other random decor.

2. Table numbers - I’m really loving the way these turned out.

2. Bunting banners. I know you can’t see it all, but this particular one is for the candy station. I also plan on making ones for the photo booth, head table, and pre-ceremony drinks table.

That’s it so far. It’s a lot of work, but I’m having fun crafting!

chunky bakers twine : Sew Lola

blue tags and heart stickers: Knot & Bow

Wedding Wednesday: Bridesmaids

I’m leaving my bridesmaids shoes and accessories up to them, as long as they stay in my red and yellow (and even a little bit of blue) color range. But obvioulsy I couldn’t help but put together a few ideas myself. What do you think? Do you have any ideas for them?

Wedding Wednesday

After a weekend spent at my venue, and getting a few more items checked off my wedding to-do list, I feel like all I am thinking about is wedding stuff. So I thought I would share a little update as far as where I’m going, inspiration wise!

I like color, if you can’t tell.

P.s - I’m hoping to start sharing more of my planning as I move forward. So look out for more Wedding Wednesday posts!

In My Life - A Weekend At Home

*I flew home by myself into snowy Buffalo for the weekend.

*I played with Kiki (and had to give Kiki a bath because of a mischievous two year old) and ate my favorite foods.

*I attended the tasting at my wedding venue on a snowy day and recieved fun gifts from my coordinator.

*And I spent time with a whole bunch of little cuties!

…………………………….

And now I’m on my way back to Boston. See you tomorrow with the outfit I wore to the tasting!

Wedding Wednesday - Save The Date DIY

Hopefully, everyone that I mailed one too has received theirs by now. So I can show you how I made my Save The Dates!

I know - I’m actually a bit early with these. But I’ve been planning them out since august, and I couldn’t wait any longer to get them done.

*what I used* :

-photo strips

-laminator

-magnets

-glue gun

-tissue paper

-bakers twine

-tags

After laminating all of the photos, I cut them into strips and glued a magnet onto the back. After a little wrapping  with some kraft tissue paper and bakers twine, they were ready to be slipped into their envelopes and mailed out.

And ta-da! I really love the way they turned out. Exactly what I wanted. They’re super cute, no?

worn on October 17th, 2011

Unfortunately, this is the only other outfit shots from our time in NYC. We took one other set, but they didn’t turn out as good as I would like. Hopefully I’ll remember to re-create that outfit soon. Its unfortunate because I remixed the heck out of the few items I packed.

But on to this outfit. After finding my dress the day before, we headed to Mood to find fabric to make my veil. I must say, its very me, and I’m just as excited about it as the dress! Hint - it maaaay involves polka dots and bows. Of course.

p.s - I’ve taken outfit photos in public before. But in the middle of a busy NYC sidewalk? thats a first.

p.p.s - Thanks again seester for taking my photos!
