Without trying to sound like a broken record, I really do love the beach during fall. Almost even more so than during the summer. This trip, Boo and I explored a completely different section of our usual beach. A spot we’ve never been to.  It’s nearly impossible to get to during the summer, because there are, like, 10 parking spots total. You have to get there practically at sunrise to get a spot :/. But this time of year? no problem.

I absolutely loved this section. It had a much more secluded feel. And in addition to a nice stretch of open beach, it had this fantastic rocky area that we spent almost all of our time exploring. Boo loved all of the little snails clinging to the rocks, and I was fascinated with the amount of different patterns in the sand I found.

Another perfect beach day.

p.s - Thank you all for your condolences about my grandpa. It’s been a really strange week, for sure. But you all are too sweet :).

Please excuse the mess that is my hair. It’s kinda hard to keep your hair looking cute on a windy beach. Even in a braid. But who cares, right? I’m on the beach. Hands, down, favorite part of summer.

I've Got Pineapple On A Cloudy Day

pineapplebeach1

Second beach day in a week span. But I’m not complaining :). This time around was a lot more cloudy, but it was rather quite nice. It was still nice and warm, but without the overwhelming, burning hot sun.

I’m definitely looking forward to as many beach days we can possibly fit in these summer weekends. Who knows, maybe we’ll even squeeze one in this weekend, too :). It gives me a chance to wear all my swimwear that I went a little crazy with this year. I couldn’t help it - I am completely obsessed with the longline bikini trend going on right now! They are peeeerfect for covering up my sunken chest (and no, mine is not quite as bad as that wiki photo. But it does make me self conscious. So if I can cover it up without resorting to a tankini or one-piece, I’m a happy girl!).

Seashells and Sweaters

Boo and I spend a lot of time lounging at the beach during the summer. But this weekend, we wondered what it would be like to wander in the sand, all bundled up, in the colder months. So we put on all of layers and headed out to Plum Beach to find out.

Turns out, it’s pretty fun. There are barely any people, and there are little treasures everywhere. We grabbed some coffee, and spent some time combing through all of the shells and driftwood scattered along the shore. And then I made Boo, who is usually behind the camera, step in front of it with me for some fun photos. He loves it….. I swear.

Plum Beach

I mentioned last week that posting has been a little sporadic because the moving process was kicking my butt. And, then, I caught a cold - which really kicked my butt. So when I started to feel the tiniest bit better on Sunday, Boo and I jumped at the chance to get out of the house and enjoy one last beach day of the season. It wasn’t the warmest or sunniest of days, but it was still the perfect beach day, nonetheless. We actually prefer a cloudy beach day - less people, and less sweating.

After a few hours on the beach, I buttoned up and tucked in my cardigan, and we headed into town for lunch (and pumpkin spice lattes). I swear, Newburyport is one of the cutest little towns. We will definitely make a conscious effort to head that way more often this fall.

p.s - you can see a few more beach outfits here.
