Happy Valentines Day!!

Iβm a camera hog. I admit it.
If we are out and about, out on an adventure, Iβm the one with the camera in my hand. But the thing is - Boo really likes photography too. So while I was out of town a couple of weeks ago, Boo had the chance to explore and take photos of things other than my outfit photos. I must say, he did a pretty good job. Maaaaybe Iβll let him have the camera a little more often.
Maybe.

Have I ever told you guys the story of these paper birds I keep hanging in our bedroom? Well, let me tell you.
To start with, I should mention that, in high school, I was given the nickname βLittle Seagullβ. Long story short - On our school trip to France, during our junior year, my exchange family didnβt exactly pack me the best lunches. So I spent an entire week picking at and eating everyoneβs scraps. My friends dubbed me βSeagullβ. It stuck. And I accepted it.
Flash forward a year later. It is our Senior year of high school, and Boo and I have been hanging out. A lot. One day, Just as the bell rang at the end of the day, Boo came up to me holding an origami paper bird. A seagull. I squealed, and asked if it could fly. So he threw it into the air, andβ¦.. it did not fly. I told him that was ok, that I loved it anyway. But he promised me he would find out a way to make it fly.
Now, flash forward another few weeks. I spent the evening at the drive in with a couple of my girlfriends. We saw both showings, so we didnβt get back to my house until well after midnight. As we approached my front door, there was sign that simply said βfollow the arrowsβ. Inside the house, there were arrows taped to the floor. Through the kitchen, the hallway, and stopping right in front of my bedroom. I opened up the door, turned on the lights, and was shocked. There they were. The seagulls. Just like the one he had given to me before, but this time they covered my ceiling. And there was a fan in the corner, pointed up at themβ¦. making them fly. Along with it, there was a note- asking me to be his girlfriend.
Thatβs how it began. Seven and a half years later, and Iβll always make sure some of those birds are hanging nearby.
P.S - for those of you that donβt know, those words in the headboard are the lyrics to Jack Johnsonβs - Better Together. Which happens to be one of the first songs we danced to together back in hight school - in my driveway. And it also happens to be the song we danced to for our first dance at our wedding.
I wore this on wednesday for Booβs birthday. Despite the flashy skirt, It was actually a really low-key day. After spending all day at work, Boo wanted steak for dinner. Sooooooo, we went out for a steak dinner. We then came home and had cupcakes, and went through all of our wedding photos (finally!!). Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Thereβs a certain Boo celebrating his birthday today. And that Boo happens to be my husband.
Happy birthday BooBoo! Thereβs cupcakes and a big olβ glass of cold milk waiting for you.
^ P.S -this is how Boo feels about the amount of photos I take.
Boo and I have been taking advantage of the nice weather lately, and have been venturing out for meals more and more. Delicious burgers for dinner, mexican for brunch, frozen yogurt for snack - oh, its so good. Iβve also been keeping myself busy with wedding planning and new sewing projects. It was a busy and fun weekend. But today, since Boo has the day off, we are going to try and head to the beach! I canβt wait!

I learned something new this past weekendβ¦. Boo is an amateur hair stylist. Who knew?
Iβve never been able to do my own hair. Never. Sure, I can do a pony, or a simple, loose side braid. But when it comes to all those super cute, intricate hairstyles we all pin so much - Iβm at a loss. I understand how to do them, I just canβt execute it on my own head. My solution? Teach Boo how to. And you know what? It turns out heβs pretty good at it. I wonder what other hairstyle I can trick him into doing for me next.

On saturday of Booβs birthday weekend, we drove out to the adorable town of Newboryport. Many people had suggested going there, and Iβm glad we did. We walked around the whole town, had the most delicious pizza, and walked in and checked out every little shop we went by. Yes, it was Booβs birthday. But I may have gotten a few presents. Typical.
After a while, we headed over to the boardwalk on the waterfront and ate our newly purchases fudge. Just sitting by the water, watching all the boats, might be one of my favorite things to do!

We didnβt stop there! Theeeeeen, we headed over to Plum Island for a little beach time. It was a little too chilly for sunbathing and swimming (although there were many brave souls who were doing so). But we did have a little picnic, took goofy pictures, and even took a little nap.
And finally, the birthday boy and his cupcakes!
