SNAPSHOTS: NIAGARA FALLS, ON

You didn’t think I’d take a trip to Niagara Falls, and not post any photos of the falls, did you?! It doesn’t matter how many times I see it, or from how many different angles, I can’t help but always take a million pictures.

I realize now that I don’t have any of the American falls posted here. While Boo is more of a fan of the American falls because of all the rocks below, I much prefer the Canadian Horseshoe falls. And well, I had the camera… :).

ONE DRESS, TWO WAYS // BUTTERFLY CONSERVATORY

butterflies1

The day before my birthday last week, Boo and I spent the day up in Niagara Falls. As soon as we crossed the border, I wanted to head straight to the Butterfly Conservatory. For all the times I’ve been to Niagara Falls, having grown up in Buffalo, I had never been to see the butterflies! It was magical, by the way. As soon as you step in, they are just fluttering around all over the place. The entire time we were in there, I just kept saying “woooooow” over and over again.

After that we headed to the Falls (I’ll share some photos tomorrow), and then spent the evening enjoying a super delicious steak dinner, and trying our luck at the casino. I wanted to pack really light, so instead of having a change of clothing for the evening, I just converted my orange dress from day to night! It’s amazing what a change of shoes and a hoodie and denim vest swapped out for a pretty shrug can do.

Somehow my camera ISO got turned way up while we were in the butterfly room, resulting in super grainy photos. That makes me so sad when that happens :(

» A few Etsy treasuries featuring shopHollyDolly : one, two, three, four.

» Isn’t Madalynne’s handmade Vera Aveline dress gorgeous?! She provided a step by step tutorial so you can make your own! I’ll definitely be attempting it sometime this summer.

» P.S - I mentioned it in Wednesday’s outfit post, but the Ross pin is by Invisible Crown

"…. where the sea lions kiss, so the story goes. Its amazing shows and friendship cove. Everyone looooooves Marineland!" I wish we would’ve had time to go to Marineland. I always have that song stuck in my head!

Well we didn’t get to go kiss any belugas, but we spend the day near the Falls and Clifton Hill area. This isn’t an outfit I would normally blog, but we were in front of Niagara Falls so of course I had to take a few photos. I’m usually pretty good at packing. But not so much this time. Instead of packing in outfits like I usually do, it seems I packed just random items. And I didn’t even pack any jeans. These are actually my “back up” jeans that I keep there. So yeah, I was pretty bored with my options.

But that is neither her nor there, because the day was definitely not boring. We played mini golf, laser tag, had ice cream, and played some arcade games. It was a gorgeous day. I love Niagara Falls!
