Black and White and Snowflakes

bwsnow5

We got our first snowfall this past weekend. And again yesterday.

It doesn’t look this pretty anymore. Now it’s all gross, as it always happens. It’s dirty and lumpy and icy and slippery and everywhere (EVERYWHERE) and in the way. But for a bit - within that hour after it first started - it was magical.

After The Storm

floral1

Here we are, with snow all around us, and I should be in full on comfy/cozy/winter mode. But instead, all I can think about is spring. And a spring wardrobe. And that is exactly what I was thinking about when I thrifted this breezy, floral top a few days ago. I was thinking about warm breezes, flowers blooming, and bare legs.

But it isn’t spring.

And I am surrounded by a couple feet of snow.

So how do I make a flowy, floral, spring top work for winter? Layers, layers, and more layers. Obvs.

Happy friday!

I have a teensy tiny favor to ask of all of you.

I am so incredibly excited for my design to be a finalist in Modcloth’s ‘Make The Cut’ Contest (yay!). If you don’t mind, head on over to Modcloth’s Facebook page and vote for your favorite! I mean, you don’t had to vote for mine, but it would be awfully nice of you :)

P.S - I know that had nothing to do with this outfit. So, here we go…. I really like this outfit. And I never wanna take this snood off.

And that is all I have for you today.

The Downside

Untitled

As much as I was looking forward to fall, I actually really dread the weather. Sure, I love my new wardrobe possibilities, apple picking, and pumpkin lattes as much as the next blogger person. But the first day of really cold, rainy, dreary weather, and I’m whining and crying like a baby.  And I’ll whine and cry my way through all of fall and winter. #truth.

Ladylike Leather

IMG_5451

I’m pretty sure I’ve said it before - but one of my favorite ways to wear this leather jacket is with something flowy and girly. I’d say this peachy, chiffon skirt and bow adorned kitten heels do the trick.
