EBEW : Pastel

IMG_4825

Theres not much pastel in my closet. Just a few items here and there. So as much as I would’ve loved to wear a head to toe pastel outfit for this month’s EBEW, this will have to do instead.

Which isn’t a bad thing, because I happen to really really really (like, really) love this outfit. For as much as I love this skirt, I don’t wear it nearly enough as I’d like. I don’t know why. It is one of the items I got during my internship a few years ago. A designer sample sale is awesome, but an employee discount at a designer sample sale? Absolute heaven.

Don’t forget to check out how everyone else is wearing there pastels today for EBEW!

Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone!

Anyone have anything special planned tonight? Boo and I actually celebrated on Sunday, because it was also the day we got engaged, one year ago. And by celebrate, I mean I made Boo go see The Vow with me. Isn’t that what Valentine’s Day is all about - watching mush, girly movies? In my head it is :)

P.S - check out how everyone else is wearing there pink and red today for EBEW!

I wasn’t sure how I felt about this outfit. I’m not really one to wear black and white from head to toe (hence my sneaking in of the chambray collar). But I figured it was EBEW day, so why not.

Another weird thing about this day? The weather was crazy nice! We got a break from the freezing cold temps, and it warmed up to nearly 50 degrees on saturday. If only it could stay this way…..

EBEW : Sparkle

This months EBEW is sequins and sparkle. Surprisingly, I don’t own anything all sequined (say what?!). Oh wait, I do have sequined Converse All Stars. Whoops.

But I do also have tops that are blinged out a bit and have some sparkle. This counts, right?

So this is another weekend outfit. On sunday, Boo and I went out for brunch… and then spent the rest of the day cuddled up in our living room fort watching DVRed shows and hockey. And taking naps. Hows that for a lazy sunday?

P.S - its EBEW day! Go check out everyone and their brightly colored legs :)

EBEW: DIY

IMG_5005

worn on October 8th, 2011

So many possibilities came to mind when I saw that this months EBEW was DIY. I could’ve easily gone to any of the older projects I’ve done in the past, but I decided to take the opportunity to make something new. Specifically, finally perfect to ruffle blouse I’ve been working on. Granted, its still not exactly where I want it to be, it still needs a few pattern tweaks. But I still think its a step better than the first polka dot one I made ( see here).

Bonus - the shorts are also a DIY from over the summer. And the bracelet is handmade - come see some of them in my shop!

I really love colored pants. In fact, I’m surprised I only own 3 pairs. I’ve done yellow, red, and orange. I would really like some bright blue ones. Or maybe green. Or purple? Or maybe I should just get one in every color.

p.s - I won this Loominosity bracelet from Ashley over at I Believe in Unicorns and I’m absolutely smitten with it! I’ve been dreaming up different outfits I can pair it with. They have some amazing bracelets in their shop. You should check them out!

p.p.s - when I went looking for the post for the yellow link above, I was reminded of how I used to go more in depth with my photo editing. I used to have a lot of fun with Photoshop actions, giving my photos different effects. All I really do now is adjust the brightness, contrast, etc. I’m thinking about going back to the more edited way, but I’m having a hard time deciding. If I do it, I want to commit to it. I don’t want to keep going back and forth. What do you think? Which do you like better?

EBEW: Pattern Mixing

worn on August 3rd, 2011

I love pattern mixing. Just love it. No, this isn’t the craziest mix ever - plaid and floral might be pretty simple, but I still love it all the same.

I picked this dress up at Goodwill a couple weeks ago. It reminds me of something I would’ve worn as a little girl in the 90’s around Easter time or something. Maybe it was - I’m pretty sure its actually a girls size.

Mixing Blues and Greens (EBEW: Thrifted)

worn on July 20th, 2011

Boo and I saw Harry Potter again last night for the 3rd time in less than a week. Don’t judge. We are a bit obsessed and we know it.

Anyway - this skirt was picked up at Goodwill awhile back and it was one of those perfect finds. An obnoxious color of green, and if fit me flawlessly? How could I pass that up.
