SNAPSHOTS : CAMPING // ACADIA NATIONAL PARK, ME
Boo and I spent a few days this past weekend up in Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, ME. We hiked, did some night kayaking in bioluminescent water, and even got a night of camping in! We actually picked the perfect weekend for it. Perfectly clear sky for star gazing, and a fall chill in the air at night (but not too cold).
I'll share some more photos from the rest of the weekend soon!
SNAPSHOTS : NEWPORT, RHODE ISLAND

For Memorial Day this past Monday, Boo and I headed to Rhode Island for a fun little adventure day. We started out kayaking in Kingston, and then headed to Newport where we walked along the cliffs edge and explored the town (which obviously included ice cream cones and boat watching). I really loved Newport and all of itβs charm, and hope we can explore it more in depth soon! Weβre also thinking about visiting Providence sometime this summer too. Any suggestions?

ALL-AMERICAN ROAD TRIP: ANTELOPE CANYON

Mesa Verde may have been my favorite hike, but Antelope Canyon was one of my favorite sights the entire trip. Once you block out the crowds of people being shuffled through, you get completely lost in the twists and turns and wavy patterns of this slot canyon. The colors, and light, and shadows - I just wish we had more time (and a tripod handy) to really capture it all.

ALL-AMERICAN ROAD TRIP: ROUTE 66 & GRAND CANYON

Oh man, you guys. Do I have a crap ton of photos from our road trip (official amount - crap ton). Hopefully I donβt bore you, but youβre going to be seeing a lot of them over the next couple of weeks. Youβve been warned.
So, we started out with the first day driving from Vegas to the Grand Canyon, stopping along Route 66 on the way. I loved Route 66. So cute. I was running all over the place, discovering all sorts of cutesy little spots. We actually stopped in both Saligman and Williams. And didnβt leave until we got some BBQ, of course. By the time we got to the Grand Canyon, we spent the whole second half of the day driving the scenic route, stopping at all of the look-out points. I swear, no camera can actually capture the real beauty of that place. No pictures do it justice. If you have never been, it should definitely be on your bucket list!

P.S - because I know someone will ask, my overalls are thrifted Leviβs.

St. Lucia, Part Four - The Peace and Quiet
I originally told myself that I would limit myself to only two honeymoon posts. But, do you know how hard it is to narrow down 300+ pictures into two short posts? Ridiculously hard. It was hurting my brain trying.
So Iβm not gonna even bother trying to narrow it down. For my own sanity. Instead, the rest of this week is dedicated to honeymoon photos, if you donβt mind. If you do, well, you should probably just step away and come back next week. Just sayinβ.
Lastly, post 4/4 - the peace and quiet time.
.

Ok, I lied - this was my favorite part. The resort that we chose to stay at - Ladera, isnβt your typical busy, bustling resort. Its quiet, it feels deserted (even though itβs not), and itβs absolutely gorgeous. It has, hands down, the absolute best view on the whole island. And, at night, it is so dark that you can see every single star in the sky (Boo was in heaven).
It was so calming and relaxing. Even on the days it rained, I didnβt mind staying in our room, looking out over the Pitons, and taking Boo on in a few games of scrabble.

St. Lucia, Part Three - The Night Time

The food was absolutely delicious every single night. And, as much as we also loved our hotelβs restaurant (Dasheene), our favorite was the restaurant across the street- Boucan. Located on the grounds of the cocoa growing Rabot Estate, everything on the menu uses cocoa as an ingredient. Iβm talking white chocolate mashed potatoes, steak drizzled with chocolate sauce, bread with cocoa butter, and salads with white chocolate dressing, to name a few. De.lic.ous.
Oh, and those sunsets? My favorite.

One of the reasons we chose St. Lucia, is for the variety of activities it offers. The island doesnβt just have gorgeous beaches and amazing waters. It also has a rainforest, two giant Pitons (mountains), and a drive-in volcano. We got to swim under waterfalls, visit the botanical gardens and take a dip in the mineral baths, take a volcanic mud bath, go zip lining, and even tour the local market and take a cooking class with our hotelβs head chef. And, of course, the snorkeling. We loooove the snorkeling.
We were able to go on some amaaaazing adventures that we will definitely never forget.
