EBEW: Pattern Mixing

worn on August 3rd, 2011

I love pattern mixing. Just love it. No, this isn’t the craziest mix ever - plaid and floral might be pretty simple, but I still love it all the same.

I picked this dress up at Goodwill a couple weeks ago. It reminds me of something I would’ve worn as a little girl in the 90’s around Easter time or something. Maybe it was - I’m pretty sure its actually a girls size.

Our Own Harry Potter Weekend & a DIY

worn on June 4th, 2011

I’ve done this DIY before - here - with some grey trousers. But I had seen an image of denim scalloped shorts awhile back and I’ve been dying to make them. I’ve just been waiting to find a cheap pair of wide legs to do it, because I didn’t want them to be skin tight in the thighs. I found these ones at goodwill, and they fit perfect - so I knew it was time! I love β€˜em. Thy just might be my new favorite shorts :)

Its very simple and there are plenty of tutorials out there! All you need is some sort of marker or fabric pencil, scissors, and fray check. And voila! I had these babies done in about a half hour.

Boo and I had a very Harry Potter filled weekend. We watched a few of the movies, read our books, and even made Butterbeer! Delicious.

I'm a Hipster, Baby

Worn on March 6th, 2011

Ugh, you guys, I feel like poo. I caught a cold. And I’m such a baby, so its really killing me. I haven’t left the house in a few days, so I haven’t put on real clothes, which means I haven’t taken any outfit photos recently. Thank goodness I had these photos from this last weekend. My friend, Allison was staying with us for the weekend, and on Sunday we went to the aquarium, went to dinner in the North End, and picked up some cannolis at Mike’s Pastry. Lovely day, if I do say so myself.

And as you can see, I jumped on the bandwagon with the big framed glasses. What can I say, I guess I’m a hipster now. No really, I really love them, as everyone else does. They’re fake though. I really do wear glasses, so I hope to get some prescription ones soon.

P.S - thank you Allison for taking my outfit photos this last weekend! Isn’t she adorable? And look at her rocking one of my bow necklaces.

EBEW: Polka Dots (and Leopard)

March 8th, 2011

blouse: thrifted, cardigan: Victoria’s Secret, skirt: handmade by me!, tights: Target, shoes: c/o Big Buddha

ebew polka dots: Who says you can’t wear polka dots and leopard print together? Not me, thats for sure. When I found out the next EBEW was polka dots, I knew it would be perfect projects for the two different polka dot fabrics I had bought. Problem is, I never got around to making the blouse, just the skirt. But thats ok - I love leopard and polka dots together too! I’m craaaaaaaazy like that, ya know.

Oh, and the shoes? they are the black versions of these oxfords sent to my by the wonderful people at Big Buddha. Love love love.

Big Buddha

Worn on March 4th, 2011

cardigan: JCrew, tank: Forever 21, shorts: vintage, Tights: Anthropologie, shoes: c/o Big Buddha Shoes

So the 30 for 30 is over, and in today’s post I am featuring these adorable oxfords sent over to me by the lovely people at Big Buddha. I love them! They are quite adorable, and pretty comfy. I wore them to pick up my friend from the airport, then galavant around town with her before dinner. A lovely day, I must say. Also, I must say that I adore these shorts. They are incredibly high waisted - I lovingly refer to them as my Urkel shorts now. But I Iove them. I think they were a great vintage fine. Very warm- 100% wool, and cute! Right?

Up Next? Shopping! And an outfit featuring the black versions of these shoes. Stay tuned.
