Day 1 - Keeping It Simple

November 9th, 2010

top: Splendid (from Anthropologie), jeans: Gap, headband: Hollydoll, boots: Miu Miu, necklace: custom made by Metal Pressions and Ekate

Worn For:  Monday - few errands, cleaning around the house, a little sewing. Not that exciting of a day - so I stuck with a simple tee and jeans combo to start out my 30 for 30 remix. I realized today that all the pants I chose for the challenge are from Gap. Hmmm, well I guess I know what I like. Also, the headband was made by me - check it out in my etsy shop. But, my favorite part is………

My necklace. I’ve posted this necklace before, but I love it so much. Its a mix of charms that signify home for me. Showing: map of my town, Buffalo’s area code, Sabres dog tag, Miller olympic ring, and ‘Believe’ in braille (gift from my bf). There are other charms too, but they aren’t showing. I just love it. Its personal and unique to me.

tank: Anthropologie, jacket: BCBG, pants: Seven for all Mankind, headband: Hollydoll, purse: H&M, wedges: Christian Louboutin

Worn For: Movies and wandering around Boston Commons. I haven’t worn these pants or this jacket in a reeeally long time. like, over a year. Usually that would mean its time to get rid of them, but I just haven’t been able to let them go. And I’m glad I didn’t. Pretty girly outfit - florals and bows and purple and heels. I like the combo.

Headband made by me! available here: Hollydoll by Holly Keenan

Oh, and this is my last outfit before my 30 for  30 remix starts Monday!

Wow... Is That a Giraffe?

October 5th, 2010

sweater: H&M, skirt: U.O, tights: Express, wedges: Steve Madden, purse: Prada

Worn For: …. I walk into Starbucks. Guy at counter: “hi can I help you?” Me: “hi, yeah, can I have a tall white mocha no whip.” Long pause. Guy: “wow. is that a giraffe?” Me: “yes it is.” Guy: “…wow.”

Ok, so thats not what this outfit was worn for, it was for date night - dinner with the boyfriend. But that is the reaction I got from this sweater. No, I did not get it in the children’s section. Yes, I do enjoy dressing like a 5 year old.

And the 30 for 30 remix starts monday! Who is excited? My items to follow…

Halloween Spirit

October 31st, 2010

dress: handmade by me, tights: Post, flats: Target

Worn For: well….. halloween. To tell you the truth, we didn’t really do much. We had a bunch of different plans - going to see a scary movie, trick or treating, renting scary movies - but we never did any of them. We ended up just walking into the square for some coffee and people watching, handing out candy to trick or treaters, and watching the Ghost Hunters live episode (which was in Buffalo!).

I made the dress. Pretty simple and easy - dolman sleeve, knit bubble hem with patched face. The tights are awesome. You should check out their shop - they have a bunch of different cool ones.

I kind of kept it simple this year. I started out with just going old school with the ghost theme. But, then I added red hair, and it kind of threw it off. I figured if I threw in a bunch of typical halloween symbols - bats, spiders, ghost, etc - I could just go with halloween spirit or spirit of halloween.

Any Way You Want It

October 29th, 2010

cardigan and tights: Anthroplogie, orange tank: Marc by Marc Jacobs, teal henley: U.O, skirt: Banana Republic, wedges: Christian Louboutin

Worn For: Group interview. I told you I would wear this combo again this week. But I mixed it up a bit to better suit it for an interview. I love the colors, and I think it was just quirky enough to make me stand out from the rest of the girls at the interview. Not much to say, other than I’m really in love with this outfit.

Hair

October 28th, 2010

shirt: Anthropologie, skirt: U.O, socks: ?, flats: Chanel

Worn for: I gots my hairs cut!! At the beginning of summer, I had this brilliant idea to grow out my bangs. I wanted something different - or so I thought. I got pretty sick of it - so I went and had them chopped back off and I couldn’t be happier! I love my bangs.

It was another weird day. 70 degree day smushed in between a few 45 degree days. But I’m not complaining. I had a nice day getting starbucks, relaxing in davis square, getting my hair cut, picking up some new hair products, and getting some yummy yummy, dinner (mmmm Chipotle). I actually got many compliments on this outfit while I was out. Well, mainly the socks - people loved these socks. Knee highs? yes please. Polka dot knee highs? heaven.

You Are My Sunshine

October 26th, 2010

tank: Marc by Marc Jacobs, henley and skirt: U.O, tights: Anthropologie?

Worn For: Another day. Groceries, halloween shopping, work around the apt., ya know. I loooove this outfit. So much that I’m thinking about wearing it again friday with some heels for a group interview. I wish I could’ve gotten some better pictures outside, but by he time I got around to pictures it was already dark out. boo.
