*Siiiiiiigh* You guys, Wednesday was just one of those days.
I think I broke my camera lens. Or maybe my camera body, but I think just my lens. It took a nose dive from atop my tripod, and it hit the ground. Hard. Something is definitely wrong now. The photos are now a little hazy - not as sharp as normal.
And it makes me cry. Well, that and the giant burn on my stomach from splattered bacon grease. That makes me cry, too. But, lets be honest, itβs mainly the messed up lens.

Well, I have a fun new dress. So at least thereβs that.

Hereβs to hoping for a better weekend. Happy friday, my friends!

I was really worried when I first ordered these shorts online about a month and a half ago. I worried that they would be too short, and too tight, and I would feel too uncomfortable in them to wear in public.
But it has been the exact opposite of that.
I have been living in them. I took them along on the honeymoon, and I wore them every other day. Literally. As a beach cover up, on the botanical gardens visit, and wherever else I could. And I still canβt stop wearing them. Maybe itβs because they feel like Iβm wearing pajamas, except they are really pretty. I mean, I do enjoy wearing my pajamas, and I do like pretty things. Itβs a match made in heaven.
tank: Marc by Marc Jacobs, thrifted
collar: handmade, similar coming to shopHollyDolly soon!
shorts: Forever21
flats: Marc by Marc Jacobs
Lately, Iβve been obsessed with the idea of getting another pair of glasses. I wear mine every.single.day, and would love to have different options. I mean glasses are just another accessory, right? I donβt own just one necklace, or one pair of shoes, to go with every outfit. Right? Right - or at least, in my head.
So, after my eye exam today, Iβm going to order some! And then Iβm hoping to ask for one or two more for christmas. Because Iβm really that obsessed. And they are all oh, so pretty. How could I pick just one?
1. BonLook - Smoking Hot
2. Warby Parker - Sinclair
3. EyeFly - Krakovska
4. BonLook - Bonnie & Clyde
5. Warby Parker - Preston
6. EyeFly - Calle de Serrano
This shirt is really tight up top. But I guess thatβs what I get for thrifting in the childrenβs section again.
On another note - why do I not always wear my hair in milk braids?! I think Iβve found my newest hair obsession.
top: thrifted
pants: Zara -similar, similar, similar
necklace: gift from my aunt
purse: Prada
flats: Lucky Brand
How do you like the new look? I ended up changing the blog layout on a whim saturday night, and Iβm really happy I did. I think HollyDolly needed a fresh new look, and Iβm really digging the larger photo layout! Iβm still working on a few aspects, and older posts arenβt formatted to the newer size - so bear with me while I work out the kinks.
Other things I did this weekend - ate lots of cookies, dog-sat an adorable pup, and sipped lemonade out of a Ninja Turtles bottle. Jealous? :)
I originally told myself that I would limit myself to only two honeymoon posts. But, do you know how hard it is to narrow down 300+ pictures into two short posts? Ridiculously hard. It was hurting my brain trying.
So Iβm not gonna even bother trying to narrow it down. For my own sanity. Instead, the rest of this week is dedicated to honeymoon photos, if you donβt mind. If you do, well, you should probably just step away and come back next week. Just sayinβ.
Lastly, post 4/4 - the peace and quiet time.
.
Ok, I lied - this was my favorite part. The resort that we chose to stay at - Ladera, isnβt your typical busy, bustling resort. Its quiet, it feels deserted (even though itβs not), and itβs absolutely gorgeous. It has, hands down, the absolute best view on the whole island. And, at night, it is so dark that you can see every single star in the sky (Boo was in heaven).
It was so calming and relaxing. Even on the days it rained, I didnβt mind staying in our room, looking out over the Pitons, and taking Boo on in a few games of scrabble.

Next up, post 3/4 - the night time.
.
The food was absolutely delicious every single night. And, as much as we also loved our hotelβs restaurant (Dasheene), our favorite was the restaurant across the street- Boucan. Located on the grounds of the cocoa growing Rabot Estate, everything on the menu uses cocoa as an ingredient. Iβm talking white chocolate mashed potatoes, steak drizzled with chocolate sauce, bread with cocoa butter, and salads with white chocolate dressing, to name a few. De.lic.ous.
Oh, and those sunsets? My favorite.

Next up, post 2/4 - the adventures.
.
One of the reasons we chose St. Lucia, is for the variety of activities it offers. The island doesnβt just have gorgeous beaches and amazing waters. It also has a rainforest, two giant Pitons (mountains), and a drive-in volcano. We got to swim under waterfalls, visit the botanical gardens and take a dip in the mineral baths, take a volcanic mud bath, go zip lining, and even tour the local market and take a cooking class with our hotelβs head chef. And, of course, the snorkeling. We loooove the snorkeling.
We were able to go on some amaaaazing adventures that we will definitely never forget.
