Happy Outfit On A Sad Day

flamingo1

I’m not really sure what to say today. I wasn’t even sure I was still going to post this outfit that I already had queued up and planned.

Of course, every time something like this happens, it is unthinkably sad. But it is really surreal when it all the sudden happens in your own backyard. Your own city. A spot you could have easily been standing in yourself. A spot that I was standing in just two days before. That is a scary moment.

So, all thoughts are with my fellow Bostonians today and the days to come.

…………….

On another note, flamingos make me happy. How could they not? Those colors, those legs. Instant smile :). A happy outfit for a sad day, I guess.

(Not So) Sporty Girl

orange1

I am one of the least sporty girls you’ll ever meet. I never played sports in high school, I hate running, and I am super uncoordinated.

And my lack of athleticism is obvious when I consider a zip-up hoodie the sportiest thing in my closet. Seriously. I don’t even own a proper pair of sneakers. Unless you count my Converse All Stars covered in sparkly sequins. Those things are pretty rad.

Tough Stuff

bw1

Is there any better combination than a sweet pure white dress paired with tough leather jacket? I didn’t think so.

P.S - happy friday! I’m forgoing the In My life post today, since I’ve already shared my Design Diary projects throughout the week. The feature will be back next week!

Banksia Dress

The other day was 70 degrees and beautiful. That called for a fun dress. And fun sunglasses. And fun shoes. And burgers on the grill.

P.S - I’m sharing these photos and a tutorial for this drop waist Banksia variation over on Design Diary today. Head on over and check it out!

Birthday Wishlist

birthday

—————————————- one - two - three - four - five - six - seven - eight - nine - ten —————————————-

My birthday is in a couple of weeks, so obviously it is time for another wishlist (says the wishlist addict). Apparently, I’m having a pineapple moment. And a vinyl moment. And there are giraffes, of course. There are always giraffes.

In My Life

» No new projects this week on Design Diary (don’t worry - I’m saving them up for next week!). But I did talk about the importance of good packaging, and introduced April’s Featured Designer - Merl of Clyde’s Rebirth!

» I really, really want to make this lip scrub that Megan created. I love lip scrubs, and I bet it tastes so yummy!

» I’ve been loving all the Etsy treasuries featuring my jewelry lately. This one is one of my favorites! This one too.

» Only one more week to get your ticket to Blog Better Boston: Style Summit. Julie of Orchid Grey and Tieka of Selective Potential have been announced as speakers. Is anyone else as excited as I am?!

Think Spring

easter1

I am ready for spring. I got my florals on, my brights and pastels, and all my flats and sandals lined up and ready. Now I’m just going to ignore the fact that the temperature had dropped back down into the 30’s and low 40’s the last few days. I’m just going to go ahead and keep thinking spring, and maybe it will happen.

On My List - Crop Tops

crop_tops

 ——————————————— one - two - three - four - five - six - seven - eight ————————————————

I have a thing for cropped tops. I know, I know - everyone has an opinion about this trend. But as long as I am covered up everywhere else (high waists and low hems), I feel perfectly comfortable. And I’m not just ok with this trend, I am obsessed with it. In fact, I already own a few of the above tops, and I guarantee you’ll be seeing them soon.

It’s funny, I never thought I would be all for bringing back the 90’s. But here I am - coveting crop tops, high waisted jeans, and overalls. I know, I can’t believe it either.
